Isn’t it extraordinary the way Jesus dealt with the law? I have an aunt who believes in the God of the New Testament but not the God of the Old Testament. I have always tried to explain how God’s character is always present throughout the entirety of Scriptures. I love the thought that if we ever wanted to know God’s perspective on the laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, we have to go no further than seeing Jesus with the woman caught in the act of adultery. God always moves to mercy through the law. The law shows our need for a loving and merciful and forgiving God.Â
What can we learn about God’s abounding mercy and love? Do we hold onto the law or extend mercy in our relationships and ministry? How does this cahnge the way we should live?
Following Jesus Because of His Mercy,
Eric

‘every time I follow Jesus I start to become the person I long to be.’ The desire to change emerges from within many people at the turn of the new year…it does in me anyway. Jesus gives me the right place to turn. A reason I follow Jesus - He has always waited for me to catch up after I’ve stumbled, or quit, or pouted, or fainted, or run backwards.

Erwin, I’ve been listening to your messages and your words have impacted me greatly. I also feel comforted to know there are others in the Kingdom who think somewhat like I do. I also find messages like “frogs can’t swallow with their eyes closed” intriguing.
Listen to this about “God Worried About Apocalypse…” It makes me wonder why many Christians are seen as people who follow only because of glitte and lights. Listen here:

Hi there…
Greatly appreciate your teaching on this subject. I discovered Mosaic through “The Relevant Church” book and celebrate your approach to the Gospel.
Keep going!

I completely believe in Jesus and try hard each day to follow him. I realize that we are on this journey through life and we need to completely give our lives to follow after Jesus. As a pastor, I am praying that those I lead would devote themselves to following Christ. I’m especially praying for the students I lead. I pray that they truly follow Christ while being persecuted in the public school. I come in contact with many in ministry being judged for their actions. I have tried to live a life as a christian with compassion and does not judge. There are many people who are ready to cast stones at those caught in sin. Like Erwin, I too have always wondered what Jesus actually wrote in the sand! I guess if it was that important then God would have let us know. If we knew what Jesus wrote in the sand then we might miss the whole point of the story.
