Influence: A Poem
By David Arcos

Breathing in, I’m breathing in – all the toxins, all the anger thinly seeping through my lungs like a flu that paints graffiti on the inner wall of my chest. Abusing me from the inside out. I match-hate for hate. I match- what’s felt, falling face first into cynical cycles of can’t and never and hanging my noose. I match- igniting a stench, I’m smelling this stench, I’m used to this sten…choose. Choose…to move, to lose my familiar, drop my inhaler, sooner or later, blowing in water, I’m swimming farther in
these…

Liquid moments of God

I breathe in – (Yawn)

And somewhere there’s a copycat in the audience. I’ve started an epidemic (yawn) just by breathing. Wow! Influence? Influence. My heart, My soul my new candle ablaze to breeze aroma in this crowd and reach a stencher! On the fence your out there just like me and

Maybe just maybe, you can’t breathe.

Trying to let H.S. guide me during conversations.
