I am living a problem that comes when you follow your dreams. I am a senior at a Bible college, I am a recruit with a Bible translation missions group. I am living my dream of going to the most remote parts of this world, finding the people there, and sharing God with them. This is a dream I have had for years, and I am moving with full abandon toward, to the horror of my mother. In following this dream I have run flat into many obsticals, right now being support raising. How do we as Christians, trying to do God’s will in this world know when He is trying to stop us, or when is He testing us to see if we are truely committed to Him. I do not want to be the guy that follows his dream to his ruin. I want to be the guy that follows his dream to the glory of the Lord, in this world and the next. This is something I have stuggled with for years.

Well if we love Him with all our mind, body, soul and strength and hunger for Him and the Word then …using our creativity..imagination certainly qualifies as part of our soul ..
all leading to more people know His supernatural
joy ..kingdom growing ..glory to God ..
Loved the door/Jesus insight and the Hebrew word for freedom being wide open space …

Also, this may relate- heard on the news that hockey players from small towns ( like Kingston Ontario) are more apt to be professional hockey players since when they were young they were ‘free’ to roam around town and try many more sports and were free to be more creative maybe …not sure this makes sense ..

I can’t express how amazing this sermon was. I’m right at the beginning of starting an artists community for my city, and it was really encouraging.

These are dangerous words. Currently I am in a period of transition where the future I believed Christ had laid out for me is not looking as certain as it once did. Add to that a continual restless desire to be in any place where the One is performing his work, and I am ready to soar. Weigh it down with the reality of 2 young kids, and chasing soaring dreams is not so appealling. But refocusing on Christ’s as a liberator/shepard of wide open spaces hardens my resolve to follow.

I know that I have given up on what God has for my life. More of just not knowing what God has for my life where I am. It is difficult to know why you are some where and why you continue to be there even after you do not wish that you had ever moved there before. Life I think would be easier if you knew what God had for you and why he had this for you. I know that not knowing why I am here I have pushed people out of my life and decided to just live this life on my own.

    Hi John,
Go to the “Walk in the word” website and listen to the three messages by James Macdonald about God’s will. The dates are from this last week; 6-14 to 6-16-06.
I’ve experienced a personal spiritual paradigm shift.
