Like many of Erwin’s talks I found Resilience uplifting. Erwin said “the worst relationship with my Father is better than my best experience without him” which profoundly resonates with my life. I would rather confront an issue with God then be problem-free without Him all the while oblivious to the boundless grace and compassion He shows us. For me its a kin to traveling to an exotic place, seeing amazing things only to look to your side and realise that no is no one there to share that moment. No matter how many words you used or how many painting you painted, you could never recapture the exact glory of those moments but just a shadow of what they were.

On another note, I appreciate the challenge to my perspective of American foreign policy. Erwin’s example of post-war Germany and Japan certainly bring a different light to the US Governments attempt to liberate other countries post 9/11. This coupled with the Invisible Children (Invisible Children) movement and I would say that I feel suitable convicted to assess my side of the fence.

    Thanks Erwin ..
I did a talk on Sunday night ..really ventured out of my comfort zone and did crash and burn for a while - good thing there were only 10 of us I thought but it was all part of our Lord’s plan I realize. Last night I had a good laugh about it with a friend that was there Sunday night. I feel so encouraged by your rising phoenix message to get up and try again ..and improve ..and risk it all for Him .. I just feel like I’m metaphorically on the road walking step by step with Christ with Mt Sinai as the goal and whether I look to the l left or the right I hear a voice behind me saying this is the way - walk yea in it …Isiah 30:21.. (walkintheword verse)
so yeah thanks so much ! for being here with your
podcasts ..it’s encouraging me so much ..Lord Bless you all abundantly.

I seem to be only getting half of the podcast. Is there a way to get the whole message?

Thanks Erwin. I am listening to the resilience message again. How true that some of life’s obstacles are obstacles of character. I have seen it plenty in my own life. I have a call towards foreign mission, but these obstacles have kept me from those goals.

    Hey Erwin,
I’m listening from down under (Australia). Some friends of mine gave me this old tape called ‘the Barbarian way’ by Erwin McManis a while back. I really enjoyed it, so I downloaded this podcast straight away.
I love the story of the prodigal son, I too have felt like a prodigal son. And what floored me was that God doesn’t accept you back as a servant, only as a son. Your past is forgotten and your status reinstated. Furthermore, like the father in the story God rejoices at your return.
The fact that he loves us so much as to let us go out into the world making our own choices, perhaps never to return, whilst also knowing all those who will come to him (John 6:37) is something I will never grasp.
    Thanks again

What a great podcast – thanks for casting! I’m listening and watching from Germany, where I first saw Mr.McManus talk in Braunschweig, Volkswagenhalle. Keep it up, it’s really, really good.
By the way, check this picture of Erwin McManus I took in Braunschweig: http://gallery.imagine03.de/displayimage.php?pos=-626
