jeff,
we do 6 celebrations on sunday. our best video equipment is at pasadena at the moment, so we usually do the video podcast from the very first 9am service there. however the audio is usually taken from the 5pm service at the mayan. being more of a night person, erwin is usually more energized by the time and vibe of the mayan. besides, by then, the message is more polished.

admin, i'm confused - the video podcast and the regular podcast are different than each other each week - i just noticed in on the "defiance" message. for instance, "television evangelist" is performed right after the opening prayer in the vcast, but is played near the end on the regular cast - why the differences???

I went to the conference that Erwin was recently speaking at in Christchurch, New Zealand and have been so blessed since discovering his podcasts.

I just wanna say thanks so much, you are blessing (and challenging) me so much. I'm going to play the Odd Thomas song for our youth group as I know they'll love it!

What a great series! I loved the "Television Evangelist" performance by Odd Thomas! This has definitely provoked a lot of conversation here at our Church office.

Thanks for "diving into this conversation." You're hitting the nail right on the head!

Odd Thomas is awesome. Great lyrics and flow. Shades of Zack de la Rocha.

While the intensity of American Christian marketing isn't felt here in New Zealand, we certainly have our own expressions that breed cynicism amongst the non-believing and the jaded Christian alike. Rob Bell poses the question, "How did so few [Christians] come to speak for so many" which confronts us(me) with the challenge of what are we(I) doing in defiance to the messages that grossly mis-portray Jesus and what He stands for. Erwin, (again!), does a perfect execution of balancing radicalism with an honest introspective look at the Western Christian culture we form a part of.

I love getting this video podcast! It's like being there but without the 12 hour commute.

"I'm your tele-evangelist" hits home. I could whine about my job and come to work everyday, complining that there is nothing I can do (here at TBN) but instead I show up and lead as best I can under poor, dysfunctional leadership. I'm a producer and director here at Trinity Broadcasting Network. My copy of "the barbarian way" sits on my desk and has been read by a few here on staff. (i've read it a couple of times myself) I let my mosaic podcast play at my desk and am encouraged by the message and hope that all on the outside is not like it is here at my desk.

Pray for us here as we try to put out content that is truly Christ. We are working for change here. It is a daily battle. If you've forgotten to pray for us here, those of us who have been striving for change, those of us who constantly ask "is this what Jesus wants us to protray?", then please, please do so. Many, many employees here do not doubt that one day the "house" will be cleaned out. Hopefully then the airwaves will be full of "how can we give to you" and not "how much more can you send us." and if you think we (the people on the bottom, yeah there are only two groups, those in the family, and the rest of us scum) are making $$$, guess again. I quit my union job in Hollywood to be here. (High five figures to less than half) Not because I believe in what they are doing but in hopes of being a part of the force that makes change. It's not fun and some of us have unpaid bills. Keep us in prayer. Thanks. I'll be listening next week.
