I am sure as to whether this is an appropriate forum to discuss other people comments (site admin could you clarify).

If it is not at the moment thats cool. Please feel free to not post this then.

I would like to respond to Tiv M Jul 11th, 2006 at 4:29 am comment:

"There is such true joy being rooted in the Word morning day and night (Colossians) ..praying unceasingly (Thes. 5:16) listening to christian music at all opportunities..watching christian TV"

I can appreciate your enthusiasm and passion however I believe that the three "W"s you refer to will be hard to achieve if you spend as much time as you can reading the bible, listening to Crispy (Christian) music, watching Crispy TV and presumably you would aim to watch as many Crispy music videos as you could to maximize your effort.

Using Jesus' life as our ultimate example of God's character in action its important to remember that Jesus spent much of his time with the kind of people that wouldn't listen to Christian music or watch Christian TV. My suggestion is, and this is what I try to live by, spend significant energy on being friends with the kind of people Jesus was attracted to - the tax collectors of our world. Make these people your primary focus.

I would have to agree that studying (and applying) scripture and prayer are fundamental to being a disciple of Christ and in discipling others. And yes spend as much time as you think necessary reading your bible, but do this in the time that you can't spend with others out in the world without a knowledge of Jesus. I'm think like 5am or something.

Plus if you only listen to Crispy music you'll miss out on hearing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' latest album which is awesome.

There is such true joy being rooted in the Word morning day and night (Colossians) ..praying unceasingly (Thes. 5:16) listening to christian music at all opportunities..watching christian TV ..the Word witness and walk like Jesus ..three W's ..as we head towards glorification upon Jesus return.. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live , but Christ lives in me the life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal. 2:20 ..
yeah ..being constantly aware of His presence is awesome.Praying with the eyes wide open :-) is cool. Constantly being aware ..watching..listening..waiting for opportunities to walk and witness .I have countless opportunities now to witness on public transportation and at work.

Dear Mr. McManus,

Your talk of practice is inspiring to me in that it reminds me of the best of who and what I am. And it reminds me that there is a way that I can give my best my love every day. The way is practice-simple and doable.

I make things so complicated. I become so troubled and upset. To the point where I am paralyzed with pain and grief of things I wish I hadn't done or could change. As a result, I can't give love to myself or to any one else. Pretty soon the days pass by into years. But giving isn't complicated. It's just focusing on love and God. It's calmly keeping my eye on the ball and trusting as opposed to worrying about what I'll lose if I miss it.

So I'm practicing.

Thanks,
Esperanza
