you deftly articulated for me my 2 biggest struggles in fresh new language when you asked
“Have you tried to circumvent the process of intimacy because your afraid of intimacy? and have you confused friendship and love with lust and desire? the answer: a resounding yes! then when i realize the beauty and offense of the gospel- that I am loved and known completely I am free! Free to live and move and have my being in Christ and to forget myself and let what little i have be broken in his hands to feed a multitude for his glory. Intimacy is my need and my biggest fear. C.S. Lewis offered an insight into why this is so difficult: “to love is to be vulnerable.” Christians are broken vessels who love because they have been loved first. What a beautiful God!
