Notes: Modern dance is a style of dance that has been around since the early 1900’s, when it broke off from the dominant ballet style of dance. Today, modern has evolved and expanded to include many different styles, such as contemporary dance.
*Most Mosaic Dance Classes will be on a summer hiatus from the end of June through August. Hip Hop I is the only class that will still be available (the 2nd Tuesday of each month).
First of all, I’m so bummed I didn’t get to make it for the 80s Jazz class - I even had my headband and leg warmers ready to go!
Secondly, I want to make a note about the ballroom class on Tuesday, the 4th. It’s not Intermediate in the level of patterns so much as it is in the level of dancer. In other words, the class will focus on technique, quality, and partnership more than on a quantity of “steps.” Some basic footwork will be taught, but needs to be learned quickly so as to allow for more emphasis on other ballroom elements. All in all … not meant for a beginning dancer, but perfect for an experienced dancer with little or no ballroom training.

P.S. Don’t forget your shoes! Ballroom rarely goes well in bare feet … and by rarely, I mean only if the sole of your foot is made of felt.
