Prayer is so important for us as humanity. The reality is that sometimes we can feel as though God hears every word we say and other times we’re met with utter silence. How do we get God to move on our behalf? Matthew Chapter 7 gives us an outline on the power of prayer.

Matthew 7:7-9 it reads, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” It seems simple-ask and it will be given. The dilemma? Maybe we have sought and we did not find. As we walk this life with a God, we may find at times that we're not asking for what we actually need but more of what we want. We can settle for living a life we took for ourselves rather than the life God wants to give us.

We often want the answer while God is more interested in a relationship. A yes from God has more than just our name on it. God will fight for our hearts. He is not just working to make our lives better but to make the world better. In times when we've knocked and there’s been no answer, it’s important to remember that just because that door didn’t open doesn’t mean a better door won’t open. We could just be knocking on the wrong doors. In a relationship with God, He leads us to the best future.

“He is calling you to a future, to a present, to your best self. He's waiting for you.” -Joe Smith
